HOLIDAY FOR HEROES
A HUGE SUCCESS!
The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors' "Wrap Party" at the Allegria Hotel on Dec. 5 filled so many care packages for American servicemen and women, that another party had to be planned because we ran out of boxes!
Several hundred families and Veterans from Walter Reed Hospital were serenaded with carols by choirs from the People's and the Island Beach Girl Scouts Troop 2352.
Santa's helpers, on motorcycles instead of reindeer, led a holiday procession from the north pole down National Blvd. to the Allegria, with Santa himself riding atop a fire truck.
What followed was holiday merriment at its Long Beach finest, with cookies, hot chocolate, hugs and photos with Santa, all to the tune of holiday music supplied by our dj and carolers.
Donations continue to be accepted through Sat. Dec. 18, and may be delivered any day, between 2 pm and 9pm, to the LB VFW (675 W. Park Avenue).
The Waterfront Warriors thanks the Allegria Hotel, the Island Beach Girl Scouts Troop 2352, our firefighters and everyone who attended for helping to brighten the holidays for our brave servicemen and women.
