FUNDS RAISED THROUGH DOG WALKATHON
June 20, 2011 - On June 14, the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors received a check for $2,000 from Dr. Lewis Gelfand of All Creatures Veterinary Services and his office manager Michelle Knox, from funds raised during their first annual All Creatures Dog Walkathon held at Nickerson Beach in May.
The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors is a group of local volunteers who raise money to bring wounded, ill and injured soldiers to Long Beach each July for some deserved rest and relaxation. LBWW co-chairs John McLaughlin and Jerry Snell were on hand to thank the Doctor and his staff for their generosity, presenting the office with a Certificate of Recognition for their dedication to our service men and women.
All Creatures also donated another $2,000 from the walkathon to Amy's Place Foundation, an organization that assists people and pets; providing pet sitters when owners are hospitalized, and placing pets with good families when owners have passed away.
The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors Inc., is a not-for-profit organization and exempt from Federal Income tax under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
