October 23 2011 - The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors were among the honorees at the Long Beach Catholic Regional School Crystal Ball on Saturday evening, October 22.
The LBWW's are a group of volunteers who support wounded soldiers and their families, welcoming them to Long Beach each summer for a week of relaxation. The group also offers educational assistance and travel for relatives of hospitalized soldiers as well as providing services to veterans.
LBWW Co-Chair and City Council Member John McLaughlin accepted the honor from LBCRS Principal Veronica Danca with many of the volunteers by his side. He later donated the award to the VFW, which has helped in all efforts on behalf of the organization.
Fellow honorees, Nancy Gentilesco and the Attanasio Family, were commended for their involvement in charitable and spiritual work, especially with the youth of our community.
